Overview


TENMYA 21 is a non-profit association created on April 8, 1996 (Visa No. 1252).

Strategic objectives


A model association capable of transmitting cultural, social and moral values related to sustainable development and harmonious natural environment through environmental education and conservation. 


Operational objectives

  • To participate in the conservation of forest ecosystems, wetlands and coastal areas in northern Tunisia.
  • To promote environmental education on the subject: Forests, wetlands and coastal.

Operational program

  • Develop and implement sustainable development projects and environmental conservation,
  • Develop an information and awareness program.

Activities


Support’s Project for Tunisian Associations
The association TENMYA 21 was selected from among 10 Tunisian associations to benefit from institutional support project whose goal is the consolidation of the Tunisia associations movement, is likely to foster through these different components (the theoretical and practical training, support human resources and logistics, funding for micro-related training).


Training in coastal ecosystems. Sitges - Spain
This training program organized by the 'Across the Water' Spain falls within the framework of strengthening the capacities of the association in matters of environmental education and learn more about the function of WWF International in the Mediterranean, Agenda 21, the impact of infrastructure on coastal ecosystems, collection of biotic and abiotic data and marine monitoring.


Participation in the tree day
The association organizes each year a reforestation campaign under the tree national day in Tunisia, which coincides with the 2nd Sunday of November each year. This activity takes place with strong participation of students in environment clubs installed and supervised by the association.

 

Participation in expositions in Tunisia
TENMYA 21 is participating daily in national expositions organized by the state either during the environmental national and international dates or in the national associations’ day. This participation allows the association to submit its activities to the mass public to attract more members and also to donors and representatives of the state to raise new funds for its projects and activities.


Participation in national congresses and international events
TENMYA 21 participates in most national congress in relation to the themes of sustainable development and environment and also in international events including the most important is that the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg.
